This Earth Day briefing will provide an overview of nuclear power and its prospects as an energy resource today.
Tim Judson of the Nuclear Information and Resource Service will explain the different types of nuclear power plants that Duke Energy and other utilities are considering, and what their economic costs and environmental impacts would be.
Tim has been an analyst and watchdog of nuclear energy for over 27 years. He has been Executive Director of NIRS since 2014, and has written several reports on nuclear energy. He is the author of a report published by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, Nuclear Power and Climate Action: An Assessment for the Future; and he is a contributing author to the annual World Nuclear Industry Status Report.
